Hey you. Thanks for stopping by, I’m Gav. 30-something years old, I’m a husband, father, son, brother, grandson, friend, writer and photographer. The last thing there is what we’re here for, but it very much depends on all the others. They tell my story, they make me who I am, they make my photography what it is. And my photography tells your story. My story though, began in Zambia, where I grew up next to a river that produced crocodiles who chased our dogs and hippos who ate our lettuce. I can’t say I was born with a camera in my hand, but if I had been I would have got some pretty cool shots back then. I was more interested in fishing though, and trying to give my annoying baby bro the slip (love you Jamo). The photography came later, when I moved to Australia in my late teens for university. It began with a humble and uncool Nikon Coolpix (sorry, no hipster-inspired story about discovering film, antique medium format cameras and darkrooms.) It wasn’t about the camera though, it was about starting to see the world through a different set of eyes, opening up visual avenues and turning them into cool photographs. It’s a journey that’s provided me with a career I love, taken me to some awesome places in the world and allowed me to meet some awesome people. Hopefully our journeys will cross paths, and I’ll be able to help tell the story of your amazing wedding day. I’d love that.
